This morning a new edition of the Sine Dolore International School for Families and Patients with Pain was presented this morning at the Hospital Mateu Orfila, organized by the Hospital Pain Unit, Sine Dolore Foundation and the Spanish Association of Pain Patients, with the collaboration of the City Council of Maó.
The talks are made this Friday, at 6:00 pm, in the assembly hall of the City Council of Maó. The session, open to all interested public, will begin with the keynote address "Physical exercise as a rehabilitating element" by Dr. Fernando Serrano Pérez, head of the Rehabilitation Service of the Hospital Quirónsalud Sur de Alcorcón and the Hospital Beata María Ana de Jesus of Madrid. The program is completed with six short presentations by different professionals on "Treat pain, alleviate suffering and improve the quality of life".
At the presentation ceremony, in charge of Dr. Jordi Moya, coordinator of the Pain Unit of the Hospital Mateu Orfila, and Antoni Gómez Arbona, manager of the Menorca Health Area, the importance of this School of Patients and Relatives of people with pain to be able to solve all kinds of doubts and offer information about treatments that can improve the quality of life of these chronically ill. "We want patients to participate in their illness, to be active, in order to achieve more optimal results", in the words of Dr. Moya.
